The I.W.S.
Primary Aquatics Water Safety programme is running in Fermoy Swimming Pool on
an ongoing basis. PAWS (Primary Aquatics Water Safety) was
developed specifically for schools to incorporate all aspects of Aquatics on
the Primary School Physical Education Curriculum. PAWS is a programme that
enables teachers to certify their pupils with nationally recognised awards in
waster safety both through the school and local swimming pool. The main aim of PAWS is to significantly
reduce the number of our young people lost to drowning each year by increasing
our children’s awareness of water.
